Works like an Italian shotgun should. The pistol grip handles wonderfully, but requires some technique. Felt recoil is markedly increased compared to both a 21' M2 with comfort tech stock and a 28' M1 with standard butt stock. This happens when applying what I'll refer to as my typical "AR hold"-no arm strength required. When I learned to flex a little with my pistol grip arm, the recoil was properly tamed down. No problem in the end, just be warned beforehand. A rear peep sight is all the rage on tactical shotguns-own a couple myself and find them great for stationary targets and accurate slug slinging. However, if one intends a shotgun so equipped to do double duty and harvest fast moving wild game, they are pretty useless (for squirrels at least I have found). That is why I chose this model equipped with the nearly unobtrusive rifle sights and choke tubes. Can confirm it is fine for taking acrobatic squirrels and easily accurate enough to harvest deer at 100 yards with Brenneke slugs. Ought to be a fantastic general purpose "survival" shotgun.
