Disappointed with...
Disappointed with quality control and condition of gun on arrival. Some things I do love. The gun looked 'used'; after firing the gun I am sure it was new, but the brown paper inside the box was wrinkled and torn. The grip screw was bunged as if someone with the wrong screwdriver and inadequate skills attempted to change the grip. (Side plate screws were in place, perfect, undamaged.) The front sight has rub marks as if it had been in and out of a holster. I am merely guessing here, but it looks like the gun may have been a store counter demo model or shipped to a magazine reviewer and returned. "looks like" - I am not sure that happened, but it did NOT look like a new from the factory never opened firearm. First day at the range: the rear sight would not move far enough to the right to find Zero. Finally, the rear sight blade screw broke and went flying while firing the revolver. I do believe it was in fact new and unfired because the trigger was poor, scratchy catchy. I would expect that from a new inexpensive revolver, NOT from a $1500 'Performance Center' gun. I had already fired it - "You shot it, you bought it" - so I kept going. After about 150 rounds, the trigger smoothed itself out and now shoots "as if" I had done my normal 'new gun' trigger job. After the first 200 rounds, it's a great trigger. What I DO like and why I'm keeping the gun anyway: The ported steel 3" barrel is fantastic. I got old; I have a hard time shooting .357 magnum rounds out of my J-frames. THIS gun is a real pleasure to shoot. The combination of the extra weight, barrel length, and very well designed port hold this revolver down as if I was shooting standard pressure .38 Specials. I fired several different brands of ammo; I got my best results today from Corbon .357 Mag 110gr JHP. those were accurate enough I am not going to look farther for everyday carry ammo. I love the MoonClips. Those make reloads (almost) as fast swapping mags in good pistol. The moon clips also make unloading and reloading fast and easy and adequately surreptitious when locking up the weapon at an "unpermissive" retailer (who I should boycott for their policy, but I got to live in the real world). I like the black matte finish; the gun will disappear nicely when it should not be seen. Yes, I recommend the gun; I would buy it again. I wish S&W would get rid of the damn ILS and do better final QC and get rid of that antique leaf spring sight; but, it's a great gun and it will serve me well.

This revolver is a beauty. Only negatives are the grip and "night sights". I'm changing those. But feels solid, looks great. Very happy with my purchase. Buds was fast as usual.
