This is a long term...
This is a long term review...I have been using this Rossi M-92 .45 Colt as my main match rifle in Cowboy Action for over three years with well over 3,500 rounds of hand loads between shoots and practice. It has been pretty much flawless with a few hiccups related to the heavy springs and plastic magazine follower.. I replaced them with a reduced spring kit, stainless magazine follower and a good cleaning. You can now operate and close the lever with two fingers and empty cases land in a neat pile about two feet away. The rifle is extremely accurate...it's easy to keep all rounds on a 8" gong at 100 yards with the iron sights. The John Browning designed double locking lugs result in what many believe to be the strongest lockup of any lever action made (the fact that the Rossi M-92 has also been chambered in .454 Casull bears this out). The only negatives I have are with the finish on the wood, it will rub off when it gets wet from the rain (Minwax stain and a bottle of Tru-Oil took care of this) and the aforementioned heavy factory springs (if this will be used as a hunting rifle or a range toy...the springs will probably not be something that needs addressing). This is a good choice for a strong solid lever gun. As usual Bud's was and is mu go source for online orders 👍👍👍
