This gun looks even...
This gun looks even better in person and the slide to frame fit couldn't be any Tighter. The trigger isn't bad but ill probably do some adjustments. The slide serrations are not as aggressive as they look. I sent 200 rounds of 115 grain federal brass down range and had more than a handful of failures to go into battery. Tapping the back of the slide wouldn't work but pulling it back a little and letting it go did do the trick. I have 7 mecgar 9 round mags and at least one from every magazine would stick against the barrel portion of the ramp. The issue isn't the mags it's the ramp on the barrel. Its polished very well but its too steep kinda like hitting a wall. I plan to get a lot more range time in once I fix the issue because this truly is a well made 1911. \\r\

I was very impressed...
I was very impressed with the weight, quality and workmanship of this pistol. Upon arrival I took it apart and cleaned the heavy oil off that it was shipped in. I have since fired about 150 rounds through the pistol. In the first three magazine rounds I shot, I had two failures to eject, and one reloaded bullet that didn't fire. Since then, I have had absolutely no failures to feed or eject. I attribute that to breaking in the gun, and possibly to the reloaded ammo I was using. (This is reloaded ammo purchased from Cheaper than Dirt). One downside is that the pistol comes with only one magazine. Also, as a a chrome-or stainless pistol, the magazine sent from the factory was black, and doesn't match the "color scheme" of the pistol. I will probably buy a stainless magazine. Also, I have since ordered two Mec-gar magazines that are the 10 round magazines. To accept the rounds the slide must be open or it will not latch, as it will with nine rounds. I have a Smith& Wesson 1911 PD and a Springfield Champion that is all stainless as well (both in .45, and all with 4 to 4.25 barrels.) The S&W is designed to be lighter weight, but the Springfield is not. The AMC pistol is the heaviest of the three, and is a pleasure to shoot. My FFL dealer was so impressed with the pistol that he is going to order some for his shop. Additionally, after much searching, Buds Gun Shop had the best price on this pistol, and it was delivered in about two days. Overall, this pistol is as good as the "high end" pistols at a much better price. I doubt anyone who buys one would be disappointed.
