The gun failed to fire...
The gun failed to fire due to light hammer strikes. The gun fired only about half the time. It is now in the hands of a Cimarron gunsmith. It is a real bummer that a brand new gun has to be sent in for repairs that may take up to six weeks to fix.

This particular Cimarron Uberti was not their finest example of craftsmanship. However the barrel was straight, not canted, and the cylinder was tight and the bolt indexed it correctly with the barrel. But, the trigger guard is offset with the frame by about a fingernails thickness, and the had was so long the hammer could not be fully cocked. It barely got to full cock as the cylinder locked up, and would push off. The grip is poorly fit with extra material hanging over the metal. The sliding firing pin would catch on its plunger as well. I can correct the defects so I accepted the gun, but jeeze. Uberti has been making great single actions for good while, this particular gun just isnt their showpiece. My other Uberti guns (Taylors and 2 Stoegers) are really nice. This one will be too, after a bit of TLC.\\r\ Buds, as usual, was quicker to get the Uberti to my FFL than I could get there to pick it up! Thanks Buds!\\r\ I am giving giving this gun a 4 star in spite of defects, because the correction is easy, and it would be a fast turn around to Cimarron if you couldnt resolve it yourself. Everything that really matters is good on this one.
